And our foundation boy certainly has no shortage of personality. Meet Astro. 
Our kings play an important role in the future of August Ragdolls. We carefully select our males not only for beautiful Ragdoll type, structure, pedigree, and health, but also for temperament and the qualities we hope they will pass to future generations.
Showing is an important part of how we evaluate our breeding cats. Competing in both CFA and TICA allows our males to be evaluated by experienced judges against the Ragdoll breed standard while giving us valuable information about their development, structure, condition, and overall breed type.
But titles and pedigrees only tell part of the story.
Our cats live in our home and are family first, so personality matters just as much to us. We want our kings to possess the affectionate, confident, social temperament that makes people fall in love with the Ragdoll breed.

Some cats come into your breeding program and become wonderful show cats or important pieces of your future. And then, every once in a while, one becomes something much more.
Astro is my heart cat.
He is the kind of show cat people dream about having. He’s confident, animated, playful, and completely comfortable being the center of attention. He walks into the show hall ready to have fun, and his personality has made showing him one of the greatest joys of my years in the cat fancy.
Astro doesn’t simply tolerate showing—he genuinely enjoys it. He loves interacting with the judges, playing on the judging table, and showing off for anyone willing to give him attention. He’s such a big goofball and so animated that it’s nearly impossible to be around him without laughing.
But some of my favorite moments with Astro happen after the show hall gets quiet. When we travel together, he gets something he doesn’t normally get at home: uninterrupted one-on-one time with me. He loves coming back to the hotel, climbing into bed, cuddling, and soaking up every bit of attention he can get. Those quiet moments with him are every bit as special to me as the ribbons and titles.
At home, he’s the same lovable goofball. He’s always ready to play and, more than anything, simply wants to be loved.
And then Sunny came along.
Astro absolutely adores her. Sunny quickly made it clear that she was the queen of the Ragdolls and somehow managed to turn our silly boy into a gentleman. She taught him a little respect for the girls, gave him some much-needed manners, and occasionally reminds him of those lessons when he forgets. 😂
Astro’s show career has been everything I could have hoped for. He earned the highest title available in TICA, becoming a Supreme Grand Champion, and finished the 2025–2026 season as the #1 Ragdoll Adult in TICA’s South Central Region, #7 Ragdoll Internationally, and #17 Allbreed Cat in the South Central Region.
His CFA career has been just as special. Astro earned Best Ragdoll Kitten in Show and finished the 2025–2026 season as both the #1 Ragdoll Kitten and #1 Ragdoll Adult in CFA’s Midwest Region.
Those accomplishments make me incredibly proud, but they aren’t what makes Astro special to me.
He is simply my everything.
Astro is the cat I dreamed of having—the show cat who loves the show hall, the goofy boy who makes me laugh, the affectionate companion who just wants to be close, and now the foundation male for August Ragdolls.
As we move into the next chapter of our program, I am incredibly excited to see Astro become a father and discover what he passes to his kittens. Of course I hope to see his beautiful type and structure in future generations, but more than anything, I hope he gives them that unmistakable Astro personality.
He is a dream cat that I cherish, and I couldn’t be happier or more proud to have him as the foundation of August Ragdolls. ❤️
